Jack Charles Wood, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, gained God as his new fishing buddy on the evening of Sunday, April 26, 2009.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday at The Speedway Club, Sam Houston Room, Texas Motor Speedway, 3545 Lone Star Circle, Fort Worth.

Jack, aka "Charlie" and "G-Jack," was born July 14, 1936, in Bardwell to Jack and Ruth Wood. He later moved to Dallas and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1955.
Jack had a career in the parts business with Ford Motor Co. that spanned 52 years. He worked at dealerships in Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Longview, Shreveport, La., and Houston.
Jack's sense of humor and unbridled selflessness earned him many a friend and much respect.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: His devoted wife of 51 years, Patricia Griffin Wood; daughter, Cay Payne; son, Dennis Wood; grandson, Brandon Thomas Payne; sister, Ann Rostetter; his dear friends, Barbara and Logan Brown; and many other family members and friends who knew and loved him.
